Severn Drives & Energy is the UK arm of Renewable Energy & Drives, a critical power engineering company with teams in Leicestershire and Wisconsin. We design, install, repair, and refurbish the power equipment that keeps solar farms and storage sites running: battery energy storage systems, uninterruptible power supplies, and the grid support equipment that sits between a generation site and the network.
Our approach is refurbish and repair before replace. A lot of equipment that gets written off as end of life can be rebuilt, retested, and returned to service for a fraction of the cost of new, and with a much shorter lead time. We back that up with testing and condition data, not guesswork.

Your battery system is aging or its manufacturer has disappeared. We test, replace, and recommission battery modules in storage and UPS systems, including systems whose original manufacturer no longer exists.
You need grid connection or compliance studies. Our consultancy team runs the studies networks ask for when you connect or modify a site, including G99 compliance (the UK rulebook for connecting generation to the grid) and harmonic studies (checks that your equipment will not distort the electricity supply for everyone nearby).
You are buying or selling a solar or storage site. We carry out independent technical reviews during ownership changes, so the buyer knows what condition the equipment is really in before the deal closes.
Your power electronics need repair rather than replacement. Inverters, STATCOMs (equipment that steadies voltage on the grid), and UPS systems can very often be rebuilt on site. We will happily talk through whether yours can.
