
Generators earn more per unit than grid export pays. Consumers pay less per unit than the grid charges. GridLink is the engineering that makes the arrangement safe enough for a DNO to accept.
A private wire arrangement is straightforward on paper: a generator sells directly to a nearby consumer at a price above export and below import, and both sides win. What stops it happening is the network. Connecting generation to a private load without compromising protection coordination, power quality or network stability is a real engineering problem, and DNOs are right to be careful about it.
GridLink solves that problem with a power electronics converter at the point of connection. It regulates voltage, frequency and active power flow, delivers power in one direction only within the defined private network, prevents unintended export beyond the arrangement, and provides reactive power control to compensate for interconnection impedance.
It runs as an islanded supply, operating independently of the public grid, or as part of a dual connection running in parallel with an existing grid connection while maintaining defined and controlled power flow. The public network then provides load balancing without the private arrangement ever destabilizing it.
Manages active power transfer between generation and load, delivering part or all of the generator's output directly to site with defined, predictable flow.
Regulates voltage and power quality at the point of connection, keeping the private arrangement inside network and equipment standards.
Designed for one-directional delivery of active power, preventing unintended export beyond the private-wire arrangement.
Provides reactive power control to compensate for interconnection impedance across the private wire run.
On the G99 variant, the converter's own output stage performs fault ride-through and fast fault current injection, removing dependency on the generator's own ride-through capability and the old disconnection interlock.
Limited frequency sensitive mode for both over-frequency (LFSM-O) and under-frequency (LFSM-U), alongside reactive power capability across the voltage range.
Each skid is factory-assembled and tested as a complete containerized unit before shipping, with outdoor-rated enclosures and solar canopy options for site power at deployment.
Control architecture spans generation site and consumer site via a master controller, RTU and BCU measurement units on each MV skid, with interfaces agreed per project.
