    Overview

The SVG Statcom Line is a chain structured static var generator (static synchronous compensator) that acts as a variable reactive power supply to compensate for variation of reactive power in the load. Each power unit has an identical structure and performance, which the brochure credits for the reliability, flexibility and availability of the system.

Main functions include improving power transmission stability, maintaining the receiving-end voltage level, compensating reactive power and improving power factor, harmonic compensation, reducing voltage fluctuation and flicker, and reducing 3-ph unbalance.

SVG Statcoms are applied in power transmission, electric railways, metallurgical, oil and gas, and wind power industries. Every power unit is full load tested and aged at high temperature, and complete sets are full load tested up to 200 Mvar.
